Self-Service Analytics Owner

Cargill | July 2021 - Present

Enable a global community of over 50,000 users to perform data preparation and data visualization using Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, and KNIME. Set the strategic roadmap for these capabilities and platforms by collaborating with internal stakeholders across the organization, refining the product vision, and supervising implementation of solutions.

Partner with vendors to define the best ways to apply each platform to Cargill’s diverse set of use cases. Provide guidance and tools to help users find the best build patterns using SSA tools. Oversee and plan strategic onboarding and migration of existing work between tools as our data architecture evolves.

Key Project

Alteryx Decommissioning and Migration - Reduced license spend by $1.7 million annually by migrating to other more cost effective tools. I developed the migration strategy, led the change management campaign, and supervised & managed budgets for a team of migration consultants.

Solo analytics practice focused on providing small businesses with data & analytics services including spatial analytics, digital marketing analysis, and data strategy consulting.

Senior Self-Service Analytics Coach

Coach a community of 30,000+ users on analytics best practices, data supply chain, and how to present data to decision makers. Primarily support Alteryx, Power BI, and Tableau while also coaching best practices on our full analytics stack from data ingestion to end user experience.

Key Project

Global Data Challenge - Co-led our Global Data Challenge, an 6 month internal competition focused on teaching our community how to create value with data. I organized and developed content on business training, hands-on analytic tool training, and our final showcase event. We had 2,200 participants from over 20 countries who generated over 140 data product ideas.
